Kitchen organisation – Step 3: Get the family involved
It’s so important to get everyone in your family involved with your kitchen organisation. No two people are the same, we all think differently. So remember, It’s not just you that needs to access the kitchen.

Where’s the peanut butter?
You’ve bought the pretty containers, you’ve ordered the custom labels, you’ve got rid of the out-of-date stuff and grouped like-with-like. It looks amazing and you’re so proud of it.
But within a few days it’s back to chaos.
- Stuff hasn’t been put back in the right spot.
- You can’t tell which rice is what at a glance.
- The labels are hard to read…
- And there are constant shouts of “Where’s the peanut butter?”
It’s so frustrating isn’t it? It does your head in that it’s always a mess, but what’s the point of wasting time and energy (and money) on organising it when it never lasts?
There are a few reasons why this might be happening in your home.
In the final step of my “Reclaim your kitchen” series, I talk about getting everyone in the family involved in the organising process.
Other steps:
How do YOU get your family involved?
It’s not just you that needs to access the kitchen. No two people are the same. We all think differently.
Talk with your family. Ask them what’s working and what’s not working.
Would they put tinned fruit with the other tinned food, or would they put it with snacks? Or does it go with the breakfast cereals as it’s eaten at breakfast time in your family?
If you’d like some one-on-one help to pick the right pantry containers, or brainstorm some ideas, I can help break it down and find something that works for you and your family.
